The Gospel According to St. Matthew

The Department of Film and Media presents a special screening of Pier Paolo Pasolini's The Gospel According to St. Matthew (1964). This restored 35mm print is the result of a collaboration between the Centro Sperimentale di Ciniatografia (Rome) and Mediaset, whose program Cinia Forever places the restoration of cherished classics of Italian cinia as its highest priority. This distinguished partnership has made it possible for Pasolini's elegantly austere ciniatic homage to the scripture of St. Matthew to be discovered or experienced once again.
